It seems like challenging conditions are becoming a calling card for our annual race, and the 2010 Kahanamoku Klassic definitely lived up to that billing. There were windy conditions and big seas all day, which led to good conditions for the women's race, but led to the race officials canceling the afternoon men's race. As it were, there were stories being told just of the non-race.
We had crews from Arizona, Nevada, and Texas (with former Marina men Billy and Greg), and multiple crews all the way from Tahiti, hopefully an annual tradition.
Thanks to all the paddlers who came and participated in our race, and to all our club members who helped out to make it a great race. Congratulations to all the wiinners, and to all participants- but of course to all of our crews. As our late co-founder Sandy Kahanamoku would lead us in our cheer...
