The Tour

There is a great deal to see in Marina del Rey, including California native seals and sea lions as well as many varieties of seabirds, including Brown Pelicans, Willets and Marbled Godwits, Gulls, American Coots, Terns, Black-necked stilts, Cormorants, Turnstones, Osprey, just to name a few. Occasionally, paddlers encounter dolphins and whales. The coastline view is spectacular, with the gorgeous California mountains, the Santa Monica and Venice Pier, and Malibu and Palos Verdes in the distance.

Physical Activity

Light to moderate workout for about an hour.

 

Equipment

Guests will be loaned an outrigger canoe paddle and life vest, and given a small keepsake from Marina Outrigger.

Suggested Attire

Swim or workout shorts, yoga pants or running tights.

Comfortable shirt that allows for arm movement (such as a workout tank or t-shirt).

Hat for sun protection.

Light jacket, windbreaker or long sleeved shirts for cooler days.

 If the weather is chilly, it’s a good idea to layer.

No shoes are required in the canoe.

Cotton clothing is NOT recommended.
